Artists use line to lead your eyes to a work of art. In the work of art it will use types of line. Everything there is uses a type of line. The different forms of line are vertical, horizontal, diagonal, curved or zigzag lines.
Dimension is the amount of space that an object takes up in one direction. Artists can create line by just drawing a face since that is one of the types of lines. A flower also uses line because it has curved lines.
A line that shows the outer edges of a shape or drawing is an outline. An implied line is a series of points that the viewer's eyes automatically connect. A row of computers can also be referred to as a line of computers.
Good work Jared. I see you have been thinking about the concepts shared in class. You seem to associate creativity with ORGANIC, free-flowing lines/shapes, rather than any other kind of line/shape (i.e. Geometric)...Why is this? I hope that you can learn to see creativity in any kind of line or shape...after all some clever patterns and linear shapes can be used creatively too! An artist can be very creative with a ruler in hand too!
